Twitter announced Friday that it will now support tweets of up to 10,000 characters with bold and italic text formatting. Users must register with Twitter Blue to access these features. On March 6, Elon Musk said that the social media platform was working on expanding the tweet limit to 10,000. "We will be expanding long tweets to 10,000 soon," he said. The billionaire did not say whether the feature would only be available to Twitter Blue users. Twitter Blue subscription is now available in India. Users can subscribe for ₹650 and ₹900 per month on website and mobile respectively. Annual subscribers will get a discount of ₹1,000 and will have to pay ₹6,800 instead of ₹7,800. The benefits of this feature include editing tweets, posting longer videos, viewing 50% fewer ads, and Early access to new features. Tweets can be edited up to five times within 30 minutes of being posted. Earlier today, Musk announced that Twitter users will be able to offer their followers content subscriptions that include long texts and hour-long videos. According to this plan, the users who offer the subscription will get all the money that the subscribers pay except for the royalties from the platforms like Android and iOS. The social media platform will not suffer any reduction during the first 12 months. Musk has introduced sweeping reforms at the company in a bid to boost revenue since taking over last October. The social media platform has seen a drop in ad revenue as it nears its $44 billion acquisition. The company implemented the verified blue tick on Twitter as a paid service and reduced the number of employees by around 80%. The social media company was now "more or less at breakeven," Musk said in an interview with Twitter Spaces on Wednesday.
