Introduction

International passenger flight The American Airlines 587 was a popular scheduled flight usually take off from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo,the capital of the Dominican Republic. Unfortunately,On November 12,2001 the Airbus A300B4605R crashed into neighborhood of Belle Harbor,on the Rockaway Peninsula of Queens, New York City. 


The aircraft a boarded 260 people among (251 passengers and 9 crew members) were killed,along with 5 people on the ground. It is the second -deadliest aviation incident involving an Airbus A300 and the second -deadliest aviation accident in U.S.


Description

The cause of this air crash was turbulence from another flight going before it. The turbulence hit this aircraft so hard that both engines fell off the aircraft one fell on a gas station and another one on a house. No engines resulted in no thrust of the aircraft and this resulted in stalling. 


Initially authorities thought that this is a terrorist attach as it happened 2 months after the September 11 attacks. But, later the interviews of witnesses stated that a wing was detached from the aircraft which resulted in that crash. That wing was actually vertical stabilizer.
