In addition to crossplay, Harada has also confirmed that Tekken 8 will have backnet code, which means that players in different parts of the world will still be able to enjoy a great online experience. Harada said that he had offered cross-play between the two previous generation consoles, but that was not feasible at the time due to security and other issues.
