Description
The mystery of Diablo's remains has finally been solved! A new excerpt from The Book of Lorath, Diablo 4's upcoming story codex, has revealed what happened to Diablo's remains and the other Prime Evils after his death. According to the lore book, parts of the Prime Evils' corpses were left behind after they disappeared in Diablo 2 and are now in the care of Horadric scholars. These relics include the Brain of Mephisto, the Eye of Baal, and the Devil's Horn, which still retain vestiges of their power. While demonic relics don't necessarily appear in Diablo 4, their presence in the lore book does raise some interesting plot points. Lilith, the main antagonist of Diablo 4 and daughter of Mephisto, could search for her father's brain or the remains of the other Prime Evils to carry out her plans. Alternatively, Inarius can use the Eye of Baal or the Devil's Horn to return the artifacts to Lilith and destroy her once and for all. The Book of Lorath is written by Lorath Nahr, one of the last Horadrim encountered at the start of Diablo 4, and it illuminates the dark corners of Sanctuary. This juicy treat is just one of many that fans can expect to find in the story codex, which will launch alongside Diablo 4 on June 6.
With record-breaking participation in the Diablo 4 open beta, fans of the Grimdark series have shown that they can't wait to see the end of the battle between Lilith and Inarius. Players will have to wait and see if the demonic relics of Prime Evils, or any other Book of Lorath lore, make an appearance in Diablo 4 when it launches. But one thing is certain, the Diablo universe is expanding and fans are looking forward to exploring all of its dark corners.
