Description

World of Warcraft has been a beloved PC-exclusive game for years, but now rumors are swirling that Blizzard might be considering bringing the game to consoles. Could we just see the day when gamers can swap out their keyboards for controllers and enjoy WoW from the comfort of their couch? It seems more and more likely. Although World of Warcraft is currently only available on PC, Blizzard has made subtle changes over the years that suggest they could pave the way for a console release. For example, the game underwent some skill pruning, making classes easier to play and more accessible. This change also opened the door for players to use controllers, and some of the best WoW streamers already do. Another reason why a console release could be on the horizon is the rise of cross-platform and cross-play. Many Blizzard games already support cross-play and cross-platform play, and WoW is likely to follow. The WoW Companion app also allows players to complete quests and quests on their phone, so a console version would be a natural progression.

The recent merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard has also sparked speculation that WoW could be coming to consoles sooner rather than later. With all of Blizzard's games set to be added to Xbox Game Pass, it seems only fitting that Microsoft would bring one of the best MMORPG games to its platform.

Although there is no official announcement yet, it seems clear that WoW is destined for a console release at some point in the future. Gamers may need to dust off their controllers and prepare for a new way to experience their favorite game. Stay tuned for updates in the coming years, and get ready to join the WoW community on console.
