Description

First noticed by computer. Sony has filed a patent application for a next-generation controller that can increase temperatures based on gaming scenarios. The app suggests that they usually use plastic materials for their controller that are difficult to deform, but now they will use another "elastically deformable" material. which can channel the temperature feedback. This new deformable sensor can detect when players deform the controller by squeezing, rubbing, and turning it. The app also says that the new "temperature control device" will make the controller warmer or cooler depending on the game scenario and player response. The real idea behind this technology is to simulate our hormonal expression while we play through artificial sensors. This technology will provide a more rewarding gaming experience.

The patent application says: “Regarding the temperature aspect, an example included in the filler is premixing a sealed gas bubble in the elastic element. The circuit section in the controller would then have a temperature control device such as a Peltier element. This would eventually allow to control the volume of gas in the bubble and modify the shape of the elastic element.

The presentation also laments the idea of using a combination of "magnetic fluid" and electric fields to alter the shape and stiffness of the soft parts of this controller concept.

Sony is looking at new ways to give gamers a more haptic gaming experience. However, the current scenario suggests that the theoretical driver is still on paper and has a long way to go to become a consumer product that is not expected for three years. But if this controller can deliver the features listed above, you can control a distinct fan base with your new collection of immersive controllers.

Still, it's a very intriguing patent filed by Sony, and it's worth keeping an eye out for new updates. Hot and cold DualSense will be the new game changer.
