In response to a Twitter user who wanted to know what makes the Nothing Phone (1) better than Google's Pixel 6a (both are similarly priced), Nothing CEO Carl Pei listed the "benefits" he says him, make Nothing Phone (1) a device superior to Pixel 6a. Pei also said that he finds it "strange" that the Nothing Phone (1) is being compared to the Pixel 6a. "6a is Pixel's entry-level smartphone. The phone (1) is our flagship smartphone. (1.) Better design: Nothing Phone (1) has symmetrical bezels around the screen, while 6a has a "big chin." Therefore, the design of the first, according to the CEO, is "very satisfactory" for those who demand a good design.
(2.) Gorilla Glass vs plastic back: Nothing Phone (1) looks "very premium" because it's protected by Gorilla Glass. The Pixel 6a, on the other hand, has a plastic rear as a shield.
(3.) Better CPU – The former has the better CPU of the two and therefore runs faster.
(4.) Camera hardware: Acknowledging that nothing has "caught up" with the Pixel in terms of software, Pie nonetheless rated the old-school camera hardware as "okay."
(5.) Screen refresh rate: With a 120Hz screen refresh rate, Nothing Phone (1) offers smoother scrolling, compared to 6a (60Hz).
(6.) Larger screen: At 6.55'', Nothing Phone (1) has a larger screen than 6a (6.1'') and therefore offers better media consumption.
(7.) Operating System (OS): Although every device has a "nice" OS, Pei prefers Nothing's OS from an aesthetic/optimization/polish/fineness standpoint.
(8.) Wired charging: Faster wired charging and wireless charging support don't exist for 6a.
