Description
Gmail, Google's email provider, suffered an outage on Monday when many users tried to log into their accounts. More than 1900 reports were logged on the Downdetector outage detector website around 6pm before the platform was restored again.
Downdetector reported that more than 60% of users reported problems with the Gmail website, while 31% experienced difficulties logging in. Many users shared screenshots of the website on Twitter when they encountered the outage. "502. This is an error. The server encountered a temporary error and could not process your request. Please try again in 30 seconds. That's all we know," read the message posted on their screens. In the US, reports passed the 10,000 mark, while many in the UK also reported outages to other Google services like Google Drive, Google Nest and Google Home, Techradar reported. A red X in the Google Workspace status panel also indicated that Gmail was having problems.
