Apple AirTag helped an American couple recover their stolen car in a matter of hours, the WRAL news channel reported. Leslie and Antar Muhammad's Toyota Camry was targeted by thieves after a break-in attempt on a neighbor's car failed, according to footage captured on the doorbell camera.
The North Carolina couple was sleeping when the thieves drove off, realizing their vehicle wasn't missing until the next morning. However, thanks to Apple's AirTag tracking device, the car's location was easily identifiable. After calling Cary police, the car was found within two and a half hours of a parking spot about 12 miles from her home. Cary police, with the assistance of officers from the Durham department, arrested three juvenile suspects at 11 am on February 4.
