Description
WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out new shortcuts with which people can block users. That's according to WhatsApp news tracker WABetaInfo, which said the feature is already available to select beta testers and will now roll out to select iOS beta testers. WABetaInfo posted this screenshot to share more information about the new shortcuts. As seen above, users get three new shortcuts, each of which will allow them to block contacts faster. Of these, the first (left-pointing arrow) is available in the context menu below the chat preview, but is not visible for group chats. The second (right-pointing arrow) is in the chat options, while the third (up-pointing arrow) appears when an unknown contact, whom you've never chatted with before, sends you a message.
However, whichever shortcut you use, the Meta-owned service will ask if you want to report the number as well; To do so, the last five messages in this issue will need to be forwarded to the platform's content moderation team, who can ban this account if, based on their report, they conclude there has been a violation.
To use this new feature, users will need to install the latest WhatsApp for iOS beta update from the TestFlight app.
