Police said they had opened an investigation and the defendant would soon be arrested. Janata Dal-United (JDU) leader Kailash Mahto was shot dead in Katihar, Bihar, police said on Friday. "We have opened an investigation and the accused will soon be arrested. Around 4-5 shots were fired. More details can only be given after the autopsy," Om Prakash, SDPO, Katihar told ANI. According to the police, the incident took place in the area of Barari police station in Katihar.
