BJP spokesman Janki Khound's complaint, lodged at the Dispur Police Station, accused Mr. Goswami of allegedly claiming that BJP workers had illicit relationships with men.

“On April 24, Rana Goswami, the current chairwoman of the APCC, spoke at a press conference in the city of Sivsagar and intentionally insulted, slandered and shocked the modesty of the Karyakarta BJP women by saying that the 'BJP workers who live together (cohabit) with another man even though he is married', as well as other lewd comments,” he added.

"The above mentioned false statements have been widely spread in print media and other forms of publications. BIP Karyakarta women have felt extremely insulted and this can lead to breaking the peace of their family life and slanders their image in society and outrages their modesty,” said Juri Sharma Bordoloi, a senior BJP leader.

He also said the party will demand his arrest for the "derogatory" comment against the women.

"We will raise our voices against Rana Goswami and demand his arrest for making such derogatory statements against Karyakarta women in BJP. Women have always been insulted in Congress. Recently we saw how a leader in Assam was insulted by Congress leadership," he said. . saying. .
