Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday called on farmers to ensure farmers' governance in his state, calling for emulating the "Telangana model of governance." "Abki baar kisan sarkar," Rao said, addressing his BRS party's third public rally in Maharashtra. He asked the farmers to elect BRS in the zilla district elections. “We want to have the Telangana model of governance in Maharashtra,” he added.

Farmers are ending their lives, he said. It is unfortunate that farmers had to worry in the nation's capital for 13 months, after which Prime Minister Modi apologized to them and gave them guarantees, but nothing happened, Rao said.

“We need original thinking to change India. BRS is not for a class or a religion, but for everyone,” he said.

“We should not be afraid of anything. If there is sincerity, we will win. That is why BRS is here,” he said, adding that the party is building a permanent office in Maharashtra.

Rao said political will is needed to solve the country's water and electricity supply problems.

More than twice the amount of water needed is available, but there is a shortage of water, he said. "Leaders, PM, CM lack will," he added.

India's water supply planning should emulate that of Zimbabwe, which has huge water reservoirs to meet the country's needs, Rao said.

This shortage will continue until there is a new structure and a new water distribution law, he said.

“The water that the rich drink in the posh cities of Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills in Hyderabad is the same water that the poor drink in Adilabad,” Rao said.

He inquired why Maharashtra could not have an insurance scheme for farmers on the Telangana lines. “If a farmer dies in Telangana, the candidate gets Rs 5 lakh in 8 days,” he said.

Mr. Rao called for farmers to become parliamentarians and parliamentarians, instead of just being used by leaders.
