He said that the Prime Minister's campaign program was being finalized.
“It is quite possible that the prime minister will campaign in about 20 places,” Bommai told reporters.
"In most (of these) places it will address rallies and in some there will be roadshows," the prime minister said.
Karnataka would vote on May 10 and the results will be announced on May 13.
Prime Minister Modi, BJP Chairman JP Nadda, Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath and a strong team of Union ministers are on the party's list of 40 all-star activists up for election.
Union ministers include Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mansukh Mandaviya and Pralhad Joshi, according to the list of leaders released by the party.
In addition to Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh and Assam Chief Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Himanta Biswa Sarma, respectively, and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadvavis were included.
Mr. Bommai, Karnataka BJP strongman BS Yediyurappa, former Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda, some Karnataka ministers and state party leaders are also on the list.
