Horensing Bey, Diphu MLA and other KAAC members were present at the ceremony. More than 100 former militants joined the ruling BJP in Assam's Karbi Anglog district on Tuesday. They were formerly cadres of the Bodoland National Democratic Front (NDFB) and were led by Nabin Chandra Bodo.

Welcoming the new members to the BJP office here, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive Tuliram Ronghang said: “A total of 110 former NDFB members joined our party today. They come from different regions and have held various leadership positions in the militant team.” He said this would strengthen the party not only in Karbi Anglong but also in neighboring West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts.

These three districts are represented by a Lok Sabha MP, with the BJP's Horensing Bey currently holding the seat.

"The members who joined us today will work to further strengthen the party and ensure Prime Minister Narendra Modi wins a third consecutive term," Ronghang said.

Mr. Bey, Diphu MLA Bidyaisng Engleng and other KAAC members were present at the joining ceremony.
