In his apology, shared Tuesday, the 64-year-old singer clarified that his intentions were not "to cause distress or anger" but to "bring us all together."

"Dear all, I realize the controversy of my last post. My intentions were not to cause anyone distress or anger and I am deeply sorry. My intentions, instead, were to bring everyone closer... but I realize that I am not It turned out."
