Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Telangana leader Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and his leader K Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR, accusing them of obstructing downtown development projects and indulging in "parivarvaad". Addressing a public rally in Hyderabad, Prime Minister Modi said the state government was not cooperating with the center in implementing various programs and initiatives that would benefit the people of Telangana, which is holding elections later this year.
"I am saddened by the lack of cooperation from the state government in the downtown projects. This affects the dreams of the people of Telangana. I call on the state government not to allow any obstruction to the planned developments for the people of Telangana.", said Prime Minister Modi.
Without mentioning any names, he appeared to attack KCR and his family, saying, "A handful of people promoting 'parivarvaad' are trying to see where they can benefit from the projects being carried out for the people of Telangana."
"'Parivarvaad' and corruption are no different. Corruption begins to grow where there is 'parivarvaad,'" the prime minister said, reiterating accusations of BJP nepotism and corruption within the BRS regime.
“Parivarvaad” was even looting the ration given to the Telangana poor, it alleged, stressing that progress in the state was important for overall national growth.
PM Modi said that his government is committed to fulfilling the dreams of the citizens of Telangana and has allocated Rs 10 lakh crore for infrastructure upgrades in this year's budget. “This NDA government sees it as our duty to fulfill the dreams of the citizens of Telangana,” he said.
Earlier today, the Prime Minister flagged down the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat express train from the Secunderabad railway station. He also initiated and inaugurated several infrastructure projects from the public meeting place.
