Bahgwant Mann said that the goal of the state is to ensure that the youth of the state hold high office. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said on Wednesday that his government would open 10 centers to provide free training to young people for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) skills. He was on his way to a rally after the launch of the 'CM di yogshala' program with the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal.
“We are going to launch a new program where we will open 10 free youth training centers for UPSC tests. Become IPS and IAS officers and make decisions,” Mann said.
He said his government's goal is to ensure that the state's youth hold high office.
Mann said his government's "CM di Yogshala" initiative will serve as a springboard to create a healthy, vibrant, prosperous and progressive Punjab.
This citizen-focused project is the brainchild of the Delhi prime minister and has gained great popularity among the people, he said.
CM Mann also said that a large number of people in the nation's capital have benefited from this initiative.
People can call toll-free 7669 400 500 for free yoga training, Mann said, adding that it is a pioneering initiative to create a mass movement to create a healthy and prosperous Punjab.
The premier said the state government is giving a big push to sport to channel the boundless energy of youth in a positive direction.
He said the “Kheda Watan Punjab dian” sporting event was just one step in that direction.
The state government has dedicated more than 500 "Aam Aadmi" clinics across the state to provide quality healthcare services in the state, Mann said.
So far, 21.21 lakh patients have benefited from these clinics, he said, adding that hundreds of thousands of patients have undergone free tests in just a few months.
To provide relief to farmers in the state, the government announced an upward revision of 25% to compensation for crop loss due to inclement weather, it said.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kejriwal said for the first time that compensation of Rs 15,000 per acre will be given to the affected farmers in Punjab.
Delhi CM Kejriwal said that when crops were damaged under previous schemes, only compensation announcements were made and farmers complained of not receiving compensation checks.
