Police say the defendant has no connection to the Prime Minister's Office. A man has been arrested for allegedly posing as a relative of a Prime Minister's Office (PMO) official and asking for free admission to a bar in Gurugram, police said. The accused, identified as Satyaprakash Arya alias Siddharth, was arrested at Gurugram Sector 58 on Monday.
According to Pritpal Singh, ACP Crime-Gurugram, "SHO from Sector 65 Police Station, Gurugram, received a phone call on his mobile phone number overnight from Saturday to Sunday, and the caller identified himself as a relative. from a senior PMO official and asked him for free entry to a bar in the Sector 65 police station".
Defendant Satyaprakash Arya works in a call center and there is no such relative/officer who works in PMO, said Gurugram ACP.
An FIR was registered against the accused with the relevant sections of the IPC at Sector 65 Police Station, Gurugram.
A mobile phone and a SIM card used by the defendant to commit the crime were also recovered, the ACP said.
Further investigations are underway, authorities added.
