India records 3,095 new Covid cases in 24 hours

India saw a single-day spike of 3,095 new COVID-19 cases, with the number of active cases rising to 15,208, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday. The toll rose to 5,30,867 with five deaths, one reported by Goa and Gujarat and three reconciled by Kerala, in the space of 24 hours, according to data updated at 8 a.m. Daily positivity was recorded at 2.61%, while weekly positivity was set at 1.91%.

The total count of Covid cases was recorded at Rs 4.47 crore (4,47,15,786).

Active cases now account for 0.03% of the total number of infections, while the national cure rate has been recorded at 98.78%, according to the ministry's website.

The number of people who have recovered from the disease is 4.41 crores (4,41,69,711), while the death rate has been recorded as 1.19%.

According to the ministry's website, 220.65 crores of doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered so far in the national campaign.
