Mr. Gehlot was accompanied by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Head Govind Singh Dotasra and Rajasthan AICC Head Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on the trip to Jodhpur.

The party is protesting the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from the Lok Sabha following his conviction by a Gujarat court over a comment on the Modi surname.

The CM repeated his accusation that Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was involved in the Sanjeevani Credit Union Society scam which defrauded a large number of investors.

The minister previously denied the allegations and reported the "attempted defamation" to the Delhi police.

Mr. Gehlot accused democracy of being in jeopardy under the rule of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Center.

"I see in them arrogance and autocracy. The way they conspired to attack Rahul Gandhi shows that they were afraid of his shining image in the world after Bharat Jodo Yatra," he said.

Gehlot accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of dodging questions in parliament about the Adani Group, saying this "suspicion" deepened his relationship with the tycoon.
