(File photo) The grandson of the late Hindutva ideologue VD Savarkar has sued Rahul Gandhi over his comments and has also challenged the Congress leader to produce documents showing he apologized to the British. Rahul Gandhi's comment "My name is not Savarkar, my name is Gandhi and Gandhi does not apologize to anyone" drew criticism from the BJP.
The former Congress leader made the comment during a press conference after being disqualified from the Lok Sabha.
Calling such comments childish, Savarkar's grandson Ranjit Savarkar said on Monday: "Rahul Gandhi says he will not apologize because he is not Savarkar. I challenge him to show documents proving Savarkar apologized."
"Using the names of patriots to promote politics is wrong and deplorable. Action must be taken," Savarkar said.
