Also previously, Sidhu Moosewala's father had received alleged threats. (File) Balkaur Singh, the father of the late Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala, claimed on Sunday that he was threatened again with an email saying he would soon be killed. "I received threats via email from Rajasthan saying they will kill me soon so please don't take the name Lawrence Bishnoi," Moosewala's father alleged.
Also earlier, Singh had alleged death threats before April 25.
"What am I doing wrong? Shouldn't I be defending my son's cause? They threatened me on February 18, 24 and 27 that they would kill me before April 25... the government would recover my security, I will continue to fight." added.
Police say a complaint was filed against unidentified persons for threatening Mr. Moosewala's father.
On March 7, Singh held a protest outside the Punjab Assembly and demanded an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into his son's murder.
Speaking to the media, Singh said that no investigation was being carried out on his behalf.
"Over the past 10 months, I have gone to the police and the administration several times. They have insured me. But what is happening here is aimed at sweeping the murder of my son under the rug. Nothing is working in my favor. Come to the Assembly", said the father of the deceased singer.
He questioned the government about the measures taken against the gangster Goldy Brar.
"CBI should investigate the case... Who are these gangsters (arrested in the case), they are just thugs. They took the money and shot him. The mastermind, who targeted my son... what action is being taken against Goldy bran? He has asked.
Sidhu Moosewala, 28, was shot dead on May 29 last year in Mansa, a day after the state government cut his security cover.
The Punjabi singer was shot at point-blank range and pronounced dead on arrival at Mansa Civil Hospital.
An investigation suggested that mobster Lawrence Bishnoi masterminded the murder in broad daylight. His close associate Goldy Brar, who is believed to be based in Canada, was also under investigation in the case. Police issued a red corner notice against Brar via Interpol.
