Police removed barricades outside the UK High Commission in Delhi today, days after a Khalistan protest at the Indian High Commission in London. Delhi Police officers said security outside the UK High Commission remained intact. "Security arrangements outside the British High Commission here are intact. However, the roadblocks placed on the road to the Commission that created obstacles to change have been removed," a senior police official told PTI. Protesters in London had toppled the Indian tricolor outside the building to protest the crackdown on Amritpal Singh.

Images of a Khalistan supporter tearing down the national flag angered the nation and sparked strong reactions on social media.

The Indian government protested strongly and called on the British authorities to provide adequate security at the Indian High Commission. On Sunday night, the British deputy high commissioner had been summoned by India to ask for explanations about the "total lack of security" at the Indian mission in London.

Senior British officials have said the British government will take the security of the Indian High Commission "seriously" as they have condemned as "disgraceful" and "totally unacceptable" the vandalism of the Indian mission by a group of protesters who Khalistan separatist flags were waving.

Punjab police launched a massive operation to arrest Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh on Saturday. Singh is still at large but police have arrested more than 100 members of his group "Waris Punjab De".

The separatist leader has been active in Punjab for a few years and is often seen being escorted by armed supporters. He claims to be a supporter of Khalistan separatist and terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and is known as "Bhindranwale 2.0" among his supporters.
