(Representative) A married couple and their three servants were found unconscious in a house in Shivaji Nagar here on Friday afternoon, suspected by police of a robbery. The incident took place at the home of businessman and lawyer Mahesh Raghav, located just 100 meters from the Gurugram Police Commissioner's office. All five were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition, police said.
The primary investigation believed it was a case of theft as a cook employed by the couple is missing, they said.
Valuables may have been stolen as the bedroom cupboards were found to be unlocked and the digital video recorders from the house's CCTV cameras were missing.
A senior officer said Raghav regained consciousness at night and raised questions about the cook's role, police said.
"Raghav told us that the cook was hired by an employment agency run by one Rajesh. The cook is from Uttarakhand and had been working at his home since March 3. All five of them fell unconscious after preparing lunch for him. We are trying to contact the operator of the placement agency," the official said.
