According to the police, the three were acting under the orders of Anmol Bishnoi. Three members of mobster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang were arrested last night after an encounter with police in Ganganagar, Rajasthan. According to the police, the gang had tried to extort a businessman. Lawrence Bishnoi's brother, Anmol Bishnoi, threatened the businessman over the phone before sending two of his aides to his home, police said.
Police, who were monitoring the exchange, last month formed teams to track down three gang members, believed to be residents of the Fazilka district of Punjab. However, an investigation indicated that the criminals were entrenched in Ganganagar in Rajasthan, along the border with Punjab.
An encounter ensued when a police team arrived in the city looking for the gang members. One of the criminals opened fire on the police and was shot in the leg in retaliation. The encounter ended with three criminals in custody, one of whom is being treated at a public hospital.
