Sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, the song became hugely popular shortly after its release in March 2022.

The Oscars went to composer MM Keeravaani, who sang a cover of the Carpenters hit "Top Of The World" as his acceptance speech, and lyricist Chandrabose. The incredibly viral track is from RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli and featuring actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR, both of whom are in attendance at the Oscars. Naatu Naatu bested a list of heavyweight competitors: Lady Gaga's Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Rihanna's Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, This Is A Life from Everything Everywhere All At Once and Tell It's Applause. Like a woman.

In another tweet, the prime minister also congratulated documentary filmmakers Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga on India's second Oscar win. His documentary short "The Elephant Whisperers" won the Oscar for best documentary short.

“Her work beautifully highlights the importance of sustainable development and living in harmony with nature,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
