More details are awaited. A man has been arrested for allegedly posting a 'transformed and 'altered' video of Congress Leader Sonia Gandhi on a social media platform in Pratapgarh in Rajasthan, authorities said on Saturday. The accused, identified as Bipin Kumar Singh Shandilya, was brought before the court on Saturday and remained in custody until March 14, said Amit Kumar, SP Pratapgarh.
The police registered a case on the basis of a complaint by a certain Lata Sharma against the defendant.
“When the morphed video of the congressional leader was noticed, the defendant was warned by Twitter authorities to remove the tweet immediately,” an official added.
“The tweet was later blocked by the authorities after the defendant ignored the warning,” the official reported.
