Seven people were killed and four others injured after a tractor-trailer rear-ended a bus on the Yamuna Nagar-Panchkula road in Ambala, Haryana, police said on Saturday. The accident occurred on Friday within the confines of the Shahzadpur police station. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.
Bir Bahan, Shahzadpur Police Station, SHO told ANI that a loaded trailer truck rammed the bus from behind.
“At first glance, it looks like the truck driver fell asleep on the wheels and ended up crashing into the bus,” he said, adding that the accident was so violent that the tractor tipped over on the wrong side.
The drivers of both vehicles are out of danger. Further investigations into the accident are underway, he added.
