A Kerala farmer who traveled to Israel as part of a government-sponsored tour to study modern agricultural technologies and then allegedly disappeared returned to India on Monday.
The farmer, Biju Kurian (48), after landing at Calicut International Airport around 5am, told reporters that he conveyed his apologies to the Kerala government, Kerala State Agriculture Minister P Prasad, to the 27-member delegation and the officials who led it. Explaining his absence since February 17, when the five-day tour to understand Israel's new agricultural techniques ended, he told reporters that he had visited holy sites in Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
