Bihar will witness a major show of force between the ruling Mahagathbandhan and the opposition NDA today as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the BJP's chief strategist, drive through the state while campaigning for their respective political fronts.

Mr. Kumar will organize a joint 'Mahagathbandhan' rally in Purnia in the eastern part of the state. The septuagenarian prime minister will join his deputy Tejashwi Yadav and the leaders of smaller allies such as Congress and the left in a show of "united opposition" that Kumar, in particular, may defeat the BJP in the 2024 election in Lok Sabha. . Tejashwi Yadav's father and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chairman Lalu Yadav, who recently returned to India after undergoing a kidney transplant in Singapore, will also appear in a video.
