Description
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) successfully launched the second edition of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh on Friday. SSLV's first test flight on August 9 ended in partial failure as the rocket was unable to inject the satellite's payload into the planned orbits.
SSLV-D2 rose into the sky from the first launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Center with three satellites, including one developed by 750 students from across India, at 9:18 a.m. "Mission accomplished successfully. SSLV-D2 has placed EOS-07, Janus-1 and AzaadiSAT-2 in their intended orbits," the space agency tweeted from its official account announcing the successful launch.
