The defendants were known to the minor and the incident occurred in the same place as the party when everyone had left the party, the defendant got her drunk and then committed the crime," she declared.

Reacting to the incident, Mahila State Congress Speaker Vibha Patel said: "Madhya Pradesh is turning into a crime island and the state has once again reached number one in crimes against women. This is one aspect very sad. The way crimes are increasing nowadays, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan should immediately resign his Home Minister Narottam Mishra and make sure such incidents don't happen. After all, why would "(The government) can't provide security? The Mahila Congress will hold a big protest against such incidents and will not make the Chief Minister feel at peace."

On the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokeswoman Neha Bagga said: "The state government is working very fast on these issues, from awareness raising programs to immediate registration of the FIR and sending these culprits after the bars. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to provide for the death penalty for those who rape girls. Also, there is one more thing we need to pay attention to. We must awaken the feeling of humanity in men and even in little boys.
