A man who identified himself as a resident of the UAE and an employee of the UAE royal family stayed at Delhi's Leela Palace Hotel for over four months. He left the hotel without paying bills worth over Rs 23 lakh. A man, who pretended to be a resident of the United Arab Emirates and an employee of the royal family of Abu Dhabi, is on the run after he stayed at Delhi's Leela Palace Hotel for over four months and left without paying the bills.
The Delhi Police have identified the man as Md Sharif and have booked him for theft and impersonation. A case against Sharif was registered on a complaint from the hotel management on Saturday. Police said Md Sharif stayed at the five-star hotel from August 1 to November 20 last year. He came with fake government documents, UAE Resident card and business card. He then left without informing anyone .He stole silverware also. According to the police, the man owes approximately Rs 23 lac in bills to the hotel.
