Bus-Truck Crashed On Maharashtra Highway Killing 2 Kids among 10

The bus carrying devotees from Badlapur and neighboring areas was on its way to Shirdi for Saibaba darshan via Nashik Ahmednagar Road when the accident occurred.


Twelve people have been injured. Among the dead were six women, two children and two men. There were about 45 passengers on the bus. According to the PTI news agency, the incident took place at around 7 am near Pathare Shivar in Sinnar tehsil of Nashik, about 180 km from Mumbai. The injured were taken to Sinnar Rural Hospital and Yashwant Hospital. Authorities said the death toll could rise as the condition of some of the injured was critical.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his condolences and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the relatives of the deceased; He has also ordered an investigation into the incident by the competent authorities.
