Description
Being afraid of parting ways two sisters decided to marry the same man. Their demand was accepted by their family thus they married the same man. Marriage ceremony took place ins Solapur district. Both girls are IT professionals. The local resident Rahul Bharat has filed a complaint against this marriage. As per section 494 of Indian Penal Code this is a non-cognizable offence. Under this section marrying again during the lifetime of husband or wife is an offence.
Bride groom has been booked under section 494. Solapur rural superintendent of police said, "A non-cognisable offence has been lodged. We will take the court’s permission and proceed ahead with further investigation. The law states that a person can marry with only one woman at a time. We have preliminary information that both the sisters are close and wanted to stay together. Further investigation is underway"
