Hollywood actress Eva Green is ready to find out if she has won a multi-million dollar High Court case over a sci-fi movie. The Casino Royale star was set to star in the dystopian thriller A Patriot, but production collapsed in October 2019. The 42-year-old sued the production company behind the project after the film was cancelled, claiming she was entitled to her million-dollar (£810,000) fee under the terms of their settlement.

Judge Michael Green is due to deliver his written ruling on the case on Friday after overseeing a trial in London earlier this year.

Edmund Cullen KC, for Mme Green, had previously declared to the court that the actress had been the victim of an "assassinat de personnage", ajoutant qu'il était "based on certain types of stereotypes les moins chers et les plus méchants qui be".

The court heard that the actress described potential crew members as "shitty rednecks", the production as a "shitty B movie" and executive producer Jake Seal as "pure vomit".

During two days of cross-examination, Ms Green told the judge that she had a "very direct way of saying things".

The French actress also said she was not called into the studio for rehearsals or stunt practice, calling it "so weird" and then "absurd with a capital A".

She said, "If I had been called to the set, I would have made this movie even if it was a disaster."

Green later denied undermining the production, telling the court, "I had nothing to do to make the film fail...they made it fail themselves with their incompetence."

Max Mallin KC, representing White Lantern, said that Ms Green had shown a "categorical and unequivocal refusal to act".

The production company also stated that it had "excessive creative and financial demands" and had expectations "inconsistent" with the film's low budget.

Mr Mallin said it was not for Ms Green to know whether or not she was called to settle down, adding: "What is in your control is whether or not you answer that call and in my opinion it leaves you very clear". that she wasn't."

She added that she "was so worried about what would happen if she was called specifically to perform" that she suggested to her agent that she "make up a story about Ms. Green's hospitalization."

Judge Michael Green is expected to deliver his decision at 10 am Friday.
