Britain's largest police force has seen multiple convictions for rape and sexual assault as cases continue to be reviewed. The ongoing Metropolitan Police standards scandal has intensified as the force admits that convicted sex offenders remain officers. The Met launched a review of sexual assault and domestic violence cases within its ranks after it emerged that David Carrick, one of Britain's worst serial rapists, was allowed to remain official despite reports of force over their crimes.

Nearly 700 officers have been re-assessed on relevant allegations and Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said many risk losing their investigation approval in the coming months.

The commissioner, who took office in September, said he believed there were hundreds of corrupt officers serving on the force who should not be on the job.

Couzens faced separate trials for murder and indecent assault

Couzens, best known for the rape and murder of Sarah Everard, was sentenced last month to 19 months in prison for three incidents of indecent exposure.

The former officer, 50, was already serving a life sentence for killing and assaulting Everard, 33, in March 2021.

Following his murder conviction, Couzens, of Deal in Kent, was charged with six counts of indecent exposure; he pleaded guilty to three.

The incidents occurred in the woods and at a fast food restaurant in Kent between November 2020 and February 2021.

Carrick has been charged with at least 85 offences, 71 of which were sexual.

Carrick, 48, received 36 consecutive life sentences for a litany of rapes against a dozen women between 2003 and 2020 when he was a serving officer in an elite armed unit at the Met.

He pleaded guilty to 49 counts, including 24 counts of rape, nine counts of sexual assault, five counts of penetrative assault, three counts of coercive and controlling behavior, three counts of forcible confinement, two counts of attempted rape, one count of sexual abuse. attempt. penetrative assault, one count of inducing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, and one count of indecent assault.

The charges relate to at least 85 separate crimes, including at least 71 sexual offenses and 48 rapes.

Chehab, a Safer Schools officer, was jailed for five years for a series of sexual offenses against children.

He was convicted by Wood Green Crown Court on March 24 of four counts of sexual activity with a girl between the ages of 13 and 15 and offenses involving indecent images of children.

The sexual activity offenses took place between March and September 2019, before Chehab joined the Metropolitan Police the following year.

They only came to light when the girl's family reported in July 2021 that their daughter had had a sexual relationship with Chehab, which it later emerged began when she was 14 years old.

Ghadiali was found guilty of sexual assault on March 24 following a trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Sexually assaulted a child on Sunday 22 September 2019 at a party in Buckhurst Hill, Essex while off duty.

The officer was charged by Essex Police and initially appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court in May 2022. He ended up in a bench jury when a decision could not be made, but was retried and found guilty.

Ireland Murdock awaits conviction for rape

Former PC Murdock, 26, was found guilty of rape on Monday April 3, following a trial at London's Inner Crown Court.

Murdock, who was attached to the North Central Base Command Unit before being removed from his position, will be sentenced in the same court on May 23.

He was fired from the Met in July 2022 after pleading guilty to unauthorized access to computer equipment after viewing the victim's crime report in the police system.

Boshein was sentenced to 42 weeks in prison after admitting to possessing an extreme pornographic image on his phone.

A judge told the bailiff the offense was "too serious" to avoid jail time, and the Crown said the image was "frankly disgusting".

The 25-year-old, from Waterworks Road, Portsmouth, Hampshire, appeared in Portsmouth Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty last month to committing the offense between 7 November 2019 and 4 April 2021. .

Boshein had been an officer trainee at the Met for three months when he sent the image to a colleague on WhatsApp.

On February 16, Special Police Sergeant Smith was charged with two counts of sexual assault that allegedly took place against two women in 2017 while the officer was off duty.
