Political scandals take center stage in Thursday's headlines. As the arrest of former SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon's husband, Peter Murrell, grabs multiple headlines, the Times focuses on the secret inquiry that saw Tory MP Scott Benton suspend the Tory whip. The inquiry found that the Blackpool South MP had offered to lobby ministers on behalf of gambling investors in exchange for money.

The arrest of former SNP chief executive Mr Murrell, who has been released without charge, follows a lengthy investigation by Police Scotland into the party's finances and has generated new questions on the front page.

There are more questions in The Daily Telegraph, this time directed at Police Scotland over the arrest delays.

The Metro plays much more frankly by simply saying, "You're broke."

There is more politics on the front page of the Daily Express with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak defending plans to house migrants on a houseboat.

The Daily Mirror is focusing on calls to prevent convicted murderers from attending their sentencing hearings following Thomas Cashman's refusal to appear in court to find out his fate in the murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel.

The Financial Times looks abroad and says that Ukraine is "ready" for talks with Russia on Crimea if the counter-offensive is successful.

Closer to home, The Guardian focuses on the money earned by the king and his late mother from their estates.

The i focuses on smart highways and says no more will be built in England for safety reasons.

And the Daily Star focuses on sea anemones and the evidence that they can learn without a brain.
