Christopher Elgifari has been arrested by South Wales Police and the driver remains in critical condition. A man has been charged with attempted murder after a delivery man was struck by his own stolen van. Christopher Elgifari, 31, was arrested by South Wales Police, while the 54-year-old driver remains in critical condition at hospital.
Police believe the alleged victim was delivering packages on Tuesday when his white van was stolen on Laytonia Avenue in Cathays, Cardiff.
Officers were called to nearby North Road at around 12:49pm, and the delivery driver was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in the capital.
His family has the support of specialized officers.
Elgifari, from Llanrumney, in the east of the city, will appear before Cardiff Magistrates Court on Friday.
A 39-year-old man had previously been arrested in connection with the incident and a white van was impounded.
South Wales Police detectives are appealing to anyone who has witnessed or has footage of a white Renault Trafic van being driven in the area of Laytonia Avenue and North Road between 12:45pm and 12:50pm.
