The budget presented by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt received a mixed reception on the front pages of newspapers on Thursday. The Daily Mirror says Hunt has boosted wealthy but despised public sector workers. The i says that Mr. Hunt made a stealthy 4p increase in income tax with six million people facing financial crisis.

The Daily Express offers a more optimistic view of the budget, focusing on the Chancellor's promise of a better future for Britain.

The Sun, meanwhile, claims an election victory with a fuel tax freeze.

Other newspapers, including the Financial Times, are focusing on concerns about Credit Suisse's future after the bank's shares fell to an all-time high.

The Daily Telegraph says Credit Suisse's woes have fueled fears of a new global crisis.

The Daily Star calls Mr Hunt's budget "mediocre" and instead focuses on 6ft 4in jockey Jack Andrews' chances of winning at Cheltenham.
