At the end of the working week, headlines in the UK are reporting that the country's long-overdue high-speed rail line will be delayed by two years. The Times, Daily Mirror and i publish the Transport Secretary's announcement that construction of HS2 between London and Manchester has been delayed, with ministers blaming high construction costs. The Daily Mail and Daily Express continue to follow the fallout from Gary Lineker's criticism of the government's new immigration bill.

Elsewhere, Metro focuses on events in Ukraine after its nuclear power plant was hit again by a Russian missile attack.

Focusing on Russia, the Financial Times reports that two oligarchs are considering dumping their $2.3 billion holdings in Russia's largest private lender to free themselves from wartime Western sanctions.

More than 500 critically ill patients died last year before they could be treated at hospital after the ambulance they called took up to 15 hours to reach them, a Guardian investigation has found.

Children are being given sex education lessons that "are not based on any reliable scientific biological explanation," warned the head of school regulator Ofsted, according to the Daily Telegraph.

And the Daily Star calls the Duke of Sussex a hypocrite for christening his daughter with a royal title.
