Rishi Sunak appears close to a Brexit deal aimed at easing trade frictions in Northern Ireland as he enters "final talks" with the European Union.
The prime minister will meet European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Windsor on Monday to discuss a "range of complex challenges" around the Northern Ireland Protocol, Downing Street said. Number 10 raised the possibility that the talks could produce a watershed moment after months of negotiations with Brussels over the fixing of the protocol.
