Thousands of social housing managers will be called upon to undergo qualification studies as part of a campaign to professionalize the sector following the death of a two-year-old boy in a moldy apartment.
Housing Secretary Michael Gove announced the changes after acknowledging that council housing residents were "inexcusably disappointed". The Cabinet Minister said the change would "raise the bar" in all areas following the tragic death of Awaab Ishak.
