An order granting additional police powers has been issued in Reading following a "public order incident" involving a group of people armed with samurai swords and machetes.
Thames Valley police said at 3am Friday that officers had learned of a group of armed people involved in a disturbance in the Regents Street area. The force said up to eight people armed with samurai swords and machetes were reported, along with damage to vehicles. No injuries have been reported yet.
