Convictions under "racist" gang law will be monitored by CPS for the first time

Description

Nearly 60% of young men serving prison sentences of 15 years or more for committing joint ventures are Black, Asian, or minority ethnic.

CPS will also record the age, sex, and disability of defendants under the law.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) will monitor the career data of those prosecuted under joint venture laws for the first time following a legal challenge.
