The Union of Universities and Colleges will hold a new membership ballot to allow staff to take further protest action for the remainder of the academic year.
University staff and civil servants will go on strike on Tuesday as the wave of industrial protests continues to sweep across the UK. Members of the Universities and Colleges Union (UCU) and the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) will picket outside universities and the British Museum in case of disputes over pay, pensions and working conditions.
