Secretary of Education points out plan to attract more international students

The Education Secretary may challenge the Home Office's plan to reduce migration, arguing that the financial boost of international students to UK universities was "extremely valuable".

Gillian Keegan has said she wants to increase education export earnings from around £26bn to £35bn by 2030.

Speaking to the Financial Times, Ms Keegan said the university sector was one of which "we should be very proud".
