Introduction

Piaggio Aero is an Italian aircraft manufacturing company. P.180 Avanti is twin turboprop engine aircraft in which engines are mounted in such a way that propellers are situated on the back side of the of the aircraft. It has the capacity of upto 9 passengers.


There are currently approx. 240 units of these aircrafts are flying all around the globe.

Development

Alessandro Mazzoni, a chief engineer in Piaggio designed this aircraft and filed its patent on 1982. The most important feature of this jet is it is very fuel efficient aircraft.

The first flight of this aircraft was on September 23, 1986 and from that day till today this aircraft is flying all around the globe.

This aircraft is based on the push principle and is fastest among its turboprop competitors. The engineers have take care of each and every thing while designing it as the cabin noise of this aircraft is also very less then the other tubroprop engines.

Its hammer head like shape is designed to keep it straight while flying in the air. It has a takeoff distance of approx. 869 meters and Landing take approx. 872 meters.


Avanti is generally used by air forces of Bulgaria, Italy and U.A.E.
