Introduction

Kuala Lumpur International Airport is the main International airport of Malaysia. This is situated approximately 28 miles or 45 kilo meters in the south of Kaula Lumpur city. This is the largest airport in Malaysia. On June 1, 1993 the government led by Mahathir Mohamad after deciding  that current airport is not sufficient to full fill the future demands led the ground breaking ceremony of new airport.

The airport is in 100 square kilometers of land and is World's largest airport site. Kuala Lumpur International Airport was inaugurated on June 27, 1998 by Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Ja'afar of Negeri Sembilan. 


Malaysia Airlines flight MH1263 was the first domestic flight to arrive at the KLIA and MH1432 was first domestic departure. In international travel MH84 was the first international flight it was to Beijing Capital International Airport.

Description
There are main 2 terminals in the airport. The main terminal and terminal 2 also known as KLIA2. The airport is so big that there is an internal mode of transportation that is by train named as Aerotrain. It is an automated machine capable of transporting 250 people from main terminal building to the satellite building. It moves at the speed of 56 kmph.

On April 3, 2006 the work for upgrading the runway and airport for Airbus A380. It took almost an year to upgrade the airport and the work completed on May 28, 2007. In 2012 Malaysia airline and Emirates starting to operate the A380 flights to Kaula Lumpur Internatinal Airport.
